More Spiking
Posted 2/19/2008 : 8:26 PM CST by casesites@gmail.com
Well this new server you have moved us to has continued to spike just like our old one. We do not want to change our server again, there must be something more simple you can do; unfortunately, if this continues with no resolution, we will be switching our server to nation voice.

I really apologize about the lag on these servers in New York. Can you please have your users perform pathpings to the server via the Command Prompt in Windows? This will help us see if the problem is a connection issue or a server issue. Are all of the users experiencing the same spikes? Also, at approximately what time are these spikes occurring?

The spikes are happening for everyone around the US. Most of these spikes take place around 9PM-11PM eastern

That is a very busy time for all NYC datacenters due to major processing by companies during those times and also general Internet usage. I would recommend check out our Chicago or Washington, DC location to see if this may help during peak times. If you would like, we can go ahead and move you to see if that works better for you.

Okay, well we need New York servers for optimal ping reasons, and I'd rather not switch to a further location. I am sorry but I am going to switch Ventrilo providers because there isn't much you can do to help us to our specific needs. If it's possible, please cancel any subscription I have. Thankyou for providing a server for us while it lasted.

Switching to Nation Voice when TypeFrag subscription runs out. Check back when vent is down.
