Well, since the shitty computer I brought with me shuts of if I touch it the wrong way, it looks like I have an excuse to get a new laptop. I've narrowed it down to 2 different ones. I don't really don't want to drop 2k on a GREAT laptop at iBuy Power or Vodoo, and sense I will probably get a a really nice desktop within this year I just went to Best Buy (I have a lot of gift cards there anyway) to see what they have.
One is a HP laptop with a weird design on the outside for about 1.3k. But it has an 1.6 GHz i7 processor with 6GB DDR3. Screen is 17.3 LED (16:9). It has a Nvidia 230M GPU.

The other is an Asus laptop for about 1k. It has a the same screen dimensions and quality but is bigger due to more edging around the screen in how big the bottom is (not really a problem). It has 6GB DDR2 and a 2.53GHz Duo Core Processor. It does, however, have a Nvidia 260M GPU which is better than the 230 in almost every way. The only other real difference is the battery on the Asus is about 1.7 hours while the HP is around 4.3 hours. Again, not that battery matters as much since I'd likely be plugged into a wall mount directly most of the time anyway.

I really don't know how great i7 is. I haven't really had time to research it too much. My main want for this computer is to act as a nice gaming computer for the majority of this year. But my main use for it will be as a video editing, photoshop, flash, and other programs like that. Do you think the difference between 230M and 260M is that much? Do you think i7 over the duo core is worth it? Or if you think both of these laptops aren't as good as another one with a similar price range, post it if you want. Thanks for the help.
